FAQ

WHAT ARE FILLERS & HOW DO THEY WORK?

Dermal fillers are modified forms of Hyaluronic Acid (HA),

a natural occurring substance in the skin. As we age we lose fat and volume in our faces and things tend to start sagging. The Hyaluronic Acid (gel like substance) is injected into the skin to add volume, plump up sagging or deflated skin and give back the shape that was once there.

The FDA has approved dermal fillers for Lips and Cheek augmentation in patients over the age of 21, and the

correction of contour deficiencies, such as wrinkles and acne scars.

We also lose volume in the back of our hands which makes us look more aged. Fillers can be injected into the back of your hands to restore the lost volume. The FDA has approved fillers for hand augmentation.

HOW LONG BEFORE I SEE RESULTS?

The great thing about dermal fillers is that results are instant! You will see immediate improvement in the treated area. Most people also experience moderate swelling, so please allow 2 weeks to pass before booking a "touch-up" treatment.

HOW LONG DO FILLER RESULTS LAST?

When treating areas around the mouth and lips filler usually lasts between 6-18 months. You body with naturally metabolized the filler quicker around your mouth because of all the movement (talking) that we naturally do. Filler injected in the cheeks and under eyes will last between 12-24+ months.

WHAT IS THE TREATMENT PROCEDURE LIKE?

Your aesthetic healthcare provider will take your medical history and then the doctor will discuss your areas of concern and provide a facial analysis. You are involved every step of the way and our goal is to achieve your desired outcome. Depending on the area being treated a topical numbing cream may be applied for 30 minutes before treatment. We also provide dental blocks if needed for lip augmentation. Actual treatment with filler can take anywhere from 20 to 60 minutes.

In most cases you might feel a pinch when the needle is initially injected but most patients report minor discomfort.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T LIKE MY FILLER?

The main advantage of using HA fillers like Juvederm/Restylane is that both are reversible. You can return to your pre-filler appearance if you don't like the results.

We also provide "dissolving" of HA fillers injected by other health care providers should you not like the results.
