How does Botox work?

Botox/Dysport is a prescription medication. When it is injected in small doses into the facial muscles it relaxes the muscle and improves the look of fine lines and wrinkles. 

Is Botox Safe?

Botox is FDA-Approved for cosmetic use and has over 20 years of clinical use that has proven safe. It is injected in small doses and typically stays in the injected region. 

How much Botox do I need?

To determine how much Botox or Dysport you will need, you'll start with a consultation where one of our doctors will go over your facial anatomy and your goals. During this time they will determine how much would be best. 

When will I see results?

Dysport usually kicks in within 4-7 days post-treatment and Botox's results can be seen around 14 days post-treatment. During this time you will see your lines and wrinkles soften. Botox/Dysport on average last between 3-4 months.

Will I look natural?

The beauty about Botox/Dysport is that when they are injected only the muscles being treated are affected; this allows normal facial expressions easily able to be expressed. The most common areas treated are the forehead, crows feet, and between the eye brows. For first time guests or new guests to AKIN we will administer a moderate to low does of Botox/Dysport and if more in needed it will be added at your follow up appointment.
