Thread Lifts or PDO Threads is a procedure in which absorbable sutures (PDO or Polydioxanone) are placed in the subcutaneous tissue. Depending on the suture used (barbed vs smooth) this will create an instant lifting of the skin as supported by the barbs or stimulate collagen production in the case of smooth sutures. These sutures will remain in place for roughly 6 months at which point they’ll be dissolved. Fortunately, due to collagen production from the PDO threads you can expect results to remain for roughly 18 months, though individual results can vary.
