Say Goodbye to Unwanted Body Hair This Summer

Now is the perfect time to start your laser hair removal treatments to be ready for summer! Say goodbye to unwanted hair forever with laser hair removal.

How does laser hair removal work?

Energy is used to target and destroy hair follicles responsible for hair growth without causing damage to the surrounding skin. The treatment takes only a few minutes for small areas and up to 45 minutes for multiple areas.

Can all hair colors and skin types be treated?

Laser hair removal is available for all skin types, including very light and very dark skin, and most hair colors. Laser hair removal is most effective on dark hair. Treatments preformed on red, blonde and gray hair is not generally effective. Come in for a laser hair removal consultation with one of our estheticians to determine whether you are a good candidate for the procedure.

What areas can be treated?

  • Face (Upper Lip, Chin, Sideburns)

  • Underarms

  • Arms

  • Chest

  • Abdomen

  • Back

  • Buttocks

  • Bikini

  • Brazilian

  • Legs

How does it feel?

The discomfort associated with laser depends on your personal pain tolerance. Laser hair removal is easily tolerated but there can be slight discomfort. Here at Akin Aesthetics & Wellness we do our best to ensure that your treatment is as comfortable as possible. Ultrasound gel is applied to the treatment area and the tip of the laser applicator is chilled to help cool the area which decreases skin sensitivity and calms the surface before and after the pulses.

How do I prepare?

Electrolysis, waxing, threading, tweezing or plucking should be avoided between sessions, however shaving is encouraged. It is very important to keep your skin as healthy and safe as possible during your treatments in order to prevent adverse reactions during your laser hair removal session.

Before you come in for your treatment, the treatment area must be clean shaven. This allows the laser to closely target the hair follicle underneath the skin, not above it.

Can men do this?

YES! Laser hair removal is a safe and effective treatment for everyone.
